Yes, Chip, I've noticed that pattern in "Space is Gonna Do Me Good": rhyming Phoenix with sixteen, adult matters with catapult, and man Ray with stay tan.

I recently heard him refer to a "game" he likes to play where he uses a sort of reverse double rhyme ending a line with, say, AB, then the next line with BA. Also likes "feminiine" or oblique rhymes. Agree, it's much more than mere flash, although sometimes his use of delayed rhymes makes that stand out, it always draws attention to WHAT he is saying. Great examples.

I have to agree, Chip. I've noticed quite involved rhyme patterns myself, like
ABBACCD in St. Francis Dam Disaster
AABA CCBC in the bridge of All My Ghosts
ABCCBA in Robert Onion

So many more, and it really adds to the lyricism of the song--it's not just flashy.

I love the idea of a random lyric generator. I also like the idea of a serious discussion of the lyrics of FBF's entire ouvre' (classy, huh?). As a former lit major I've noticed a consistently high quality in lyrics since "Come On Pilgrim" and am always interested in insight others can provide. I'm not just talking about subject, but rhyme patterns, inversions etc as well. FBF seems to be head and shoulders above most lyricists in the technical dept.

I think members may want know that this community is here to stay, and won't be gone a year from now. Some may feel it may not be worth it (to invest time and energy on setting up their journals, groups, profile information) if this ain't here the following day. Maybe the admin can give everyone an assurance, a commitment, a statement of trust.

Perhaps community members can create a group for each studio album, and within each group can be the lyrics, album artwork, videos related to the album, and most importantly the discussion about particular songs.
